Day 1 :
Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait ben Haddou Kasbah– Roses Vally – Dades Valley
The 3 days Marrakech to Fes desert tour, starts with an early pick up from the airport or your accommodation in Marrakech. Then, drive across the magnificent High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi-N-Tichka Pass. Stops will be made for panoramic views of the stunning scenery.
Following that, we will visit the famed Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. A fortified settlement designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The Kasbah has appeared in numerous movies, including as Gladiator, Alexander, and The Mummy. In addition, there are television shows such as Game of Thrones. Then we travel to Ouarzazate, known as “the desert gate.” After lunch, we will continue our tour of the Rose Valley, passing through Skoura’s vast palm grove. Finally, we drive to Boumalne Dades, where we’ll spend the night.
Day 2 :
Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Dunes – Camel trekking – overnight in a luxury camp
After breakfast, we drive through the Dades Valley, stopping at a viewpoint to take in the breathtaking scenery of the Dades Gorges. Then we continue to Todra Gorges, where the passage of the Todra River has cut out a spectacular canyon through the mountains, resulting in a steep red cliff-side gorge. Feel free to roam through the gorges and enjoy the scenery. Following that, we drive through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad. There will be time for lunch along the route.
at the afternoon, we arrive at the Sahara desert of Merzouga. You switch to camels to cross the sandy desert. A pause will be made for you to admire the spectacular sunset from the top of a high dune. Day 3 :
Merzouga Dunes – Erfoud – Midelt – cedars forest – Ifrane – Fes
On the final day of your 3-day Marrakech to Fes desert trip. Wake up early to see the stunning sunrise in the middle of the desert. You have free time for breakfast before riding camels back to Merzouga, where the driver awaits. Then we leave the desert to explore Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Rissani remains an important trading center in the region, with a thriving souk on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. After a tour around Rissani souk, we continue to Erfoud and visit one of the fossilized marble workshops.
After that, we travel down the Ziz River, stopping for a panoramic vista of the Ziz Valley. In Midelt, you have free time for lunch. Then we proceed to the cedar forest, which is home to the Barbary Macaques. Feel free to feed them while strolling through the forest. Following that, we visit Ifrane, which is known for its low temperatures, snow, and alpine-style residences. It’s no surprise that it’s known as Morocco’s Switzerland.
