Your 6 Days Tour from Tangier to Marrakech begins in Tangier. Also referred to as “the bride of the north”. The city is located northwest, where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean off Cape Spartel. We will pick you up from your accommodation in the airport or the port in Tangier.
Then, we begin by exploring the lovely city, Hercules’ grotto, and Cape Spartel. Free time for lunch. After that, we drive to Chefchaouen, passing via Tetouan and the Rif Mountains. Stops will be made to enjoy panoramic vistas. Overnight stay at a hotel in Chefchaouen.
After breakfast, take your time exploring the charming blue streets of Chefchaouen. Next, we drive to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you can admire its well-preserved mosaics, grand pillars, and archways. After enjoying the ruins, we continue 30 km to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities and the former capital of Sultan Moulay Ismail. In Meknes, we visit the impressive Bab Al-Mansour gate, the Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal Stables, the Granary, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Finally, we drive to Fes for an overnight stay in a Riad.
The tour starts with a visit to the Royal Palace Gate, followed by the well-preserved medieval Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enter the old Medina through the iconic Blue Gate (Bab Boujloud), where you’ll be guided through its vibrant streets. Key stops include the Bou Inania Madrasa, the Najjarine Fountain, the bustling Tanneries, and the historic Quaraouin Mosque and University, recognized as the world’s oldest university.
After exploring the Medina, we head to the Mellah, the historic Jewish Quarter, for a glimpse into its unique architecture and history. Next, we drive to a panoramic fortress offering breathtaking views of the Medina and the city of Fes. The tour ends with a return to your riad.
After breakfast, the 6 Days Tour from Tangier to Marrakech continues south via Imouzzer. To see Ifrane, which is known for its cold temperatures, snow, and alpine-style architecture houses. It’s no surprise that it’s known as Morocco’s Switzerland. Then we head to the cedar forest, where the Barbary macaques live. Feel free to feed them while strolling through the forest.
Later, we will continue to Midelt, where we will have some free time for lunch. Then we drive across the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and along the Ziz valley, making stops for panoramic vistas.
at the afternoon, we arrive at the Sahara desert of Merzouga. Where you swap to camels and cross the sandy desert, stopping on top of a high dune to watch the sunset. Then proceed to the camp, which combines traditional nomadic tents with the elegance of a hotel. Where you can listen to Berber drum music while dancing around a campfire under the huge open sky of stars. Accommodation is in place.
Wake up early in the morning to enjoy the amazing sunrise. Free time for breakfast. Then we leave the desert to explore Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Rissani remains a key trading center in the region. With a sizable souk that is active on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. After a tour around the Rissani souk, we continue to Erfoud to visit one of the fossilized marble workshops.
Then we travel via Touroug and Tinjdad palm groves to get to the Todra Gorges. The course of the Todra River has cut a spectacular canyon through the mountains. This canyon, with its steep red cliff sides, is suitable for rock climbing. Feel free to roam through the gorges and enjoy the scenery.
Free time for lunch at a restaurant. Then we head to the Dades Valley via Boumalne Dades. Unavoidable pauses include the “monkey fingers” rock sculpture and a vantage point on a mountain overlooking the Dades valley. Dinner and stay at a motel.
Following breakfast, the 6 Days Tour from Tangier to Marrakech proceeds to Kalaa Magouna to view the Rose Valley. Every year in May, the residents have a Rose Festival when they sell their rose goods, which range from fragrances, rose water, oil, and cosmetics. We will pick you up from the airport, port, or your hotel in Tangier. Please send us your arrival details before the tour. If your flight arrives late, we may adjust the visit to Hercules Cave and Cape Spartel depending on time.
This tour includes long drives on some days. For example, the road from Fes to the desert and from Dades Valley to Marrakech takes several hours. However, we stop many times for photos, rest, and beautiful views. This makes the journey more comfortable and enjoyable.
You will stay in hotels and traditional riads. In Chefchaouen and Fes, you will sleep in charming riads inside the old medina. In the desert of Merzouga, you will stay in a desert camp. The camp includes dinner and breakfast. Please note that Wi-Fi and electricity in the desert may be limited.
During the Sahara experience, you will ride a camel across the sand dunes. The ride usually takes about one hour. If you do not want to ride a camel, we can arrange a 4×4 transfer instead. Desert nights can be cold, so bring warm clothes.
Please pack comfortable walking shoes because you will explore medinas and historical places like Volubilis. Bring light clothes for warm days. Also bring a jacket for cool evenings, especially in the desert and Ifrane. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat are also very useful.
Breakfast is included every day. Dinners are included in the desert and in Dades Valley. Lunches are not included, so you can choose what you like to eat.
It is a good idea to carry some cash in Moroccan Dirhams for lunches, entrance fees, and personal shopping. ATMs are available in big cities like Tangier, Fes, and Marrakech.
