6 Days Desert Tour from Casablanca to Marrakech

When you arrive at Mohammed V International Airport, our driver will welcome you and take you to start your Morocco journey. Casablanca is the biggest city in the country and the economic capital. It is modern but also has beautiful traditional places.

First, you will visit the famous Hassan II Mosque. This mosque is one of the largest in the world. It is built next to the Atlantic Ocean, and the views are amazing. You can admire the tall minaret, the detailed carvings, and the peaceful atmosphere. If the mosque is open, you can go inside and see the beautiful design.

After that, you will drive along the Corniche. This is the seaside area of Casablanca. You can walk near the beach, relax in a café, and enjoy the ocean air. Depending on your arrival time, you may also explore the city center and the Habous Quarter, which has small shops and traditional markets. After breakfast at your hotel, you leave Casablanca and start your journey toward Fes. This day is full of history and culture, with several interesting stops along the way.

First, you drive to Rabat, the capital city of Morocco. You will spend some time exploring its main highlights. Visit the famous Hassan Tower, an unfinished mosque tower from the 12th century. Just next to it, you can see the beautiful Mausoleum of Mohammed V, where Moroccan kings are buried. The building is elegant and peaceful. If there is time, you can also walk near the Kasbah of the Udayas and enjoy the ocean view. After a short visit, continue your journey.

Next, you head to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the best-preserved Roman sites in North Africa. You will walk among old columns, arches, and detailed mosaics on the ground. It is a calm place with open views of the countryside.

After that, continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities. Here you will see the impressive Bab Mansour Gate, known for its beautiful decoration. You can walk around Lahdim Square and see the old city walls and historic buildings. Then enjoy some free time for lunch.

In the afternoon, drive to Fes. When you arrive, check in to your traditional riad inside the Medina. In the evening, you can take a short walk near your riad and feel the special atmosphere of this ancient city. Overnight stay in Fes.

Today is a long but beautiful day. After breakfast, you leave Fes and drive toward the Sahara Desert.

Your first stop is Ifrane. This small town looks very different from other Moroccan cities. It has clean streets, green parks, and houses with red roofs. Many people call it the “Switzerland of Morocco.” You can stop for photos and a short walk.

Then you continue to the cedar forest near Azrou. Here, you may see Barbary monkeys in the trees. You can take pictures and enjoy the fresh mountain air.

After that, you drive to Midelt for lunch. This town is famous for apples and is surrounded by mountains. The road continues through the Middle Atlas Mountains and the beautiful Ziz Valley. You will see palm trees, small villages, and amazing landscapes.

In the afternoon, you arrive in Merzouga, near the golden sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. Here, you will ride camels into the desert. The camel ride takes about one hour. You will stop on a high dune to watch the sunset. The colors of the sand change slowly, and the view is unforgettable.

When you arrive at the desert camp, you will check in to your private tent with a private bathroom and hot shower. In the evening, you will enjoy dinner under the stars. Overnight stay in the Sahara Desert camp.

Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes of Erg Chebbi. The desert is very quiet in the morning, and the colors of the sand are beautiful. After breakfast at the camp, you ride camels back to the village of Merzouga where your driver will be waiting for you.

Then you drive to Rissani, a small town known for its traditional market. If it is market day, you will see local people selling spices, dates, vegetables, and animals. It is a real local experience. After that, continue your journey toward Todra Gorge.

When you arrive at Todra Gorge, you will see very high rock walls with a small river between them. You can walk inside the canyon and take photos. Many travelers love this place because it is peaceful and impressive. After some free time and lunch, you continue to Dades Valley.

On the way, you will pass small Berber villages and beautiful mountain views. Stop to see the famous rock shapes called “Monkey Fingers.” In the evening, check in to your hotel in Dades Valley. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

After breakfast, you leave Dades Valley and drive through beautiful landscapes and small villages. You pass through the Valley of Roses and the oasis of Skoura with its many palm trees.

Then you arrive in Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Morocco” because many movies were filmed here. After a short stop, you continue to the famous ksar of Ait Ben Haddou. This old village is made of clay and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will walk inside the kasbah, explore the narrow paths, and enjoy amazing views from the top.

In the afternoon, drive to Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains. You will cross the beautiful Tizi n'Tichka pass. There will be stops for photos along the way. In the evening, arrive in Marrakech and check in to your riad. Overnight stay in Marrakech.

After breakfast at your riad, you will have some free time depending on your flight schedule. You can take a short walk in the Medina or buy last souvenirs.
