After breakfast, you go for your 2 Days Desert Tour From Ouarzazate to Merzouga, with your driver picking you up at 08:30 from your riad. To reach Skoura Oasis, go the road of a thousand Kasbahs. You will visit Kasbah Amridhil, which was portrayed on the old 50 dirham currency. The kasbah has been wonderfully renovated and is well worth a visit; it is entirely made of adobe, a good construction material that maintains room temperatures cool in the summer and warm in the winter due to the thickness of its walls.

From here, you will journey through the lovely Valley of the Roses to Kel’aa M’gouna. Here, you may visit a local cooperative that makes cosmetics from the valley’s plentiful roses.These organic products are highly valued. There is no obligation to buy or stop here!

After arriving at the Dades Valley, you have lunch at one of the surrounding restaurants. In the afternoon, you will continue your journey southeast. Toudgha Gorges offers several options to wander alongside the river through the gardens or along the road on the opposite side of the gorges. Between Tinjdad and Erfoud, you may stop to explore “Khettara,” a remarkable subterranean water channel system deep beneath the earth that keeps water cold and prevents it from evaporating.

Then you continue your desert journey via the Ziz Valley, which is known for its vast groves and fortified kasbahs that rise tall among the palm palms. In Erfoud, you may visit a local workshop and observe how thousands of fossils are transformed into various artifacts. From here, we proceed east to Merzouga, where sand dunes mark the beginning of the enormous Sahara Desert.

At the campsite, you settle into your tent and relax with a glass of tea and Moroccan pastries. Then you take a camel ride to the top of the Erg Chebbi dunes (250 meters). You’ll watch the sunset from the top of the dunes!
