2 Days Desert Tour from Ouarzazate to Merzouga Itinerary :
Day 1 :
Ouarzazate – Skoura (Kasbah Amridil) – Rose valley – Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Erfoud -Merzouga Sahara – overnight in a luxury camp
We will take you up from your accommodation or the airport in Ouarzazate early in the morning. Then we tour the city of Ouarzazate. Visit the Atlas Studio, where great films were shot, as well as Taourirt Kasbah. Then, travel southeast to Amridil Kasbah in Skoura, which is bordered by palm trees. Then we proceed to Rose Valley. You have free time for breakfast before riding camels back to Merzouga, where the driver awaits. Then we leave the desert to explore Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Rissani remains an important commercial hub in the region, with a thriving souk on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. After a tour around Rissani souk, we travel to Erfoud and visit one of the fossilized marble factories.
Following that, we travel down the Ziz River, stopping for a panoramic vista of the Ziz Valley. In Midelt, you have free time for lunch. Then we head to the cedar forest, where the Barbary Macaques dwell. Feel free to feed them while strolling around the forest. Following that, we visit Ifrane, which is known for its low temperatures, snow, and alpine-style residences. It’s no surprise that it’s known as Morocco’s Switzerland.
